1: The Brain Day with Derek Pugh This entry level workshop teaches anatomy, brain function, and learning profile differences between students and highlights the importance of sleep and breakfast to learning. Extended workshops can involve career profiling and planning, learning style profiling, drug and alcohol education, and adolescence and the brain. The workshop will include dissection of sheep or goat brains if available, brain modelling and on-going project ideas. This is a half day, one or two full days workshop aimed at primary or secondary aged students. Workshop program, objectives and other information available here.(pdf)
2: SEWBaD - five secrets in preparing a brain for learning. How to maximise the efficiency and growth of our brains. This workshop uses brain compatible education strategies to teach children how they can maximise the efficiency and growth of their own brain. SEWBaD - Sleep, Exercise, Water,Breakfast and Diet, provides the framework upon which children can build their personal strategies. A full day workshop may include dissection of sheep or goats brains if available, brain modelling and on-going project ideas. It can be adapted to suit students of any age. Half days suggested for primary students, full days for secondary.
